Each constituent group in a shared experience project has a unique and important role.  Without each group, the project would not succeed.

 

Participating Teacher:  This is the teacher who goes on the trip and communicates with the learning community back home.

Prepares static portions of the website before embarking

Trains teachers and students on the use of the blog

bullet

Helps students understand the purpose of the trip

Writes blog entries each day while on trip

bullet

Creates multimedia whenever possible

Evaluates success and failures of the project

 

Non-Participating Teachers:  These are teachers and substitute teachers who participate in the project with their classes back home.

Encourage students to visit the project site

bullet

Use any of the material in the classroom as they see fit

May send comments and questions to the participating teacher.

 

Students:

Check the blog both at home and school.  Though not all do, process based work is more effective if the students check each day.

Answer questions and do class work related to the project

bullet

Write occasional comments and questions to the participating teacher.

 

Parents and Other Community Members:

 

bulletEncourage and facilitate student-participation at home or in a local library whenever possible
bulletWrite occasional comments and questions to the participating teacher.
