I'm Off to Alaska


I'm off to Alaska. Thanks for all your suggestions and your good wishes. My plane leaves today at 1:00 for Minneapolis. From there, I change planes and head to Anchorage, Alaska. I'll spend the night there and then go to Dutch Harbor. Want to see the route on Google Earth? Here it is

Day 1
Day 2



Here is the question for the day: Look at the route of the flight on the first day. Use the measuring tool in Google Earth to help you find the distance of the route. Assume the plane will travel about 400 miles an hour for the entire trip. I leave New York at 1:15. I will be on the ground in Minneapolis for about 2 hours. What time will I arrive in Anchorage? Remember, Anchorage is 4 hours earlier than we are.


I hope to have Internet along the way to upload some pictures. If not, I'll meet the ship on Friday and should have Internet over the weekend to write more. Talk to you soon...

From New York to Minnesota is about 1000 miles and from Minnesota to Alska is about 25000 miles.

I am so sorry about how long it took you to get to alaska, but i bet you that you had some adventure about all the different things that you have seen. I was so happy that the poor men was saved because of his sickness. well I hope you are having a good trip gotta go, bye.

The answer is 260.89. I got the answer by going to your blog, clicking on day 2 and measuring the length. then ii divided it by 3 and i got the answer!

I got 275 mph. also, i am sorry to hear about your difficulties coming to Alaska. Anyway, i got the answer by dividing the miles by three. I hope that you have a good time in Alaska!!

Hello. From Anchorage to the Aleutian Islands is about 800 miles. If it takes three hours to get there then your plane must have been traveling at about 265 mph. Ihope every thing is ok
